Grenada Mulls 15-Year Development Plan

Grenada Prime Minister Dr Keith MItchell has announced plans for a 15-year “National Development Plan.”

The proposal was revealed following a visit to several cities in North Americ including New York, Montreal and Toronto.

According to Mitchell, Grenada is receiving technical assistance on the proposed plan from what he described as a “friendly government.”

Grenada Names Soca Artist New Cultural Ambassador

Grenada’s government has named Caribbean soca artist Hollice Mapp as the country’s newest cultural ambassador.

Mapp, whose stage name is “Mr Killa,” is being given an official passport.

The decision, which was made by Grenada’s Cabinet, was announced following a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

GRENADA TOURISM AUTHORITY WELCOMES MV MINERVA

The MV Minerva docked at the Melville Street Cruise Terminal for the first time on 27 March 2014.  The ship brought in a total of 335 passengers with a crew of 174.

Registered in the Bahamas, the six-deck Minerva first came to Swan Hellenic in 1996.  In 2007, the Carnival Corporation, Swan Hellenic's owner, eliminated the line, but it was revived by former P&O Chairman Lord Jeffrey Sterling and All Leisure, a British holding company.  Minerva (I) was chartered again, and many of the key former Swan staff members returned to work in the office and onboard. ??The current Minerva is a 12,500-ton ship that carries up to 352 passengers, double occupancy, on in-depth, cultural itineraries in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and East of Suez into the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.
